Vientiane,
capital of the Lao PDR is connected by air with Bangkok (Thailand),
Hanoi (Vietnam), Phnom Penh and Siem Reap in Cambodia. The
following flight schedules indicate air connections between
nearest capital cities to Vientiane and India. There are no
direct connecting flights from India to Laos. Most Indians
coming to Vientiane from India do so through Bangkok, where
both Air India and Indian Airlines operate regular flights

A
more economic alternative of reaching Vientiane from Bangkok
is to take a domestic flight from Bangkok to Udon Thani as
per the following flight schedule, and then reach Vientiane
by road. Distance from Udon Thani to Vientiane is only 75
kms. However, this involves the hiring of a limousine and
taxi thereafter for crossing the border. Thai Airways operates
limousines from Udon Thani to Friendship Bridge at Nong Khai
(the Lao-Thai border). Private taxis operate from the Lao
side of the border to Vientiane, which is about 20 kms from
the Bridge.
